It’s the month of Love! My joyful reminder for this month is based around love because there is nothing more powerful than what love stands for. Jesus shows us love through His actions, and God shows us love because He gave us His only son. It seems only fitting to mention God during a month entirely devoted to love and relationships. I find some of the most beautiful moments in life, the ones when I am genuinely happy, are when I get to be in a relationship with God and others. I consider love to be one of the greatest gifts God has given me. However, this month tends to sell itself on Valentine’s Day cards, roses, and chocolates. It seems that as we celebrate our love for family, friends, and relationships, but we forget that there are many people around the world who do not feel love this time of year. Some people feel quite lonely. Pray to God in times of loneliness and ask Him for a hand on your heart. Know that I will also be praying for you in hopes that God brings you brighter days in your future. One of my favorite verses is 1 Corinthians 13:4-8; 13 “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails…. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” I am making it a goal of mine and encourage you to do the same this month and simply read this verse every morning when you wake up as a reminder to us all to go out into the world with a loving heart, walk as Jesus did, and remember each and every aspect of love that this verse shows us.
