Praising Jesus in a Pandemic

Hey everyone! I hope you all are doing well and staying inside as much as possible so we can all stay healthy and get through this together!

I know Easter will look a little different this year for all of us, but I wanted to still bring some colorful Easter decorations into our home. Plus, it’s been so dreary and gloomy here with all this rain so it’s nice to brighten things up a bit!

Here’s a look at our Easter table setting! These Easter placemats, bunny plates, dish towels and cute bunny pillow with a pearl necklace are all from Home Goods. Pretty much everything we have were given to us as gifts from our wedding or my bridal showers.

Also, how beautiful is this flower bouquet Jonathan brought home?! He has the biggest heart. Jonathan knows how much I love fresh flowers and it just warms my heart so much whenever he surprises me with them. Who else LOVES fresh flowers like I do?

And since we are staying at home this Easter, Jonathan and I will be watching our church’s Easter service online. I promise it’ll touch your heart… You should watch it with us right here:https://southwestchurch.com/

Of course, no matter what life throws our way, virus or pandemic…one thing eternally remains the same. Jesus loves us. He loves us sooo much that he died a very horrible death on a cross for us, for all of our sins. Through His blood that was shed, we are set free from the chains our sin puts us in. We are made clean. White as snow.

Not only that…but we celebrate Easter because on the third day after his death, Jesus rose from the dead. He literally conquered death! His body was not found in the tomb, which he was buried in.

Jesus is Lord! He is risen! He came to Earth, fully human and fully man to save us and in doing so, He brings us so much hope. Isn’t that just what we need in a time like this? HOPE. In a time, full of uncertainty, why not place all of our fears and anxiety into one thing that is certain, Jesus. He is the Prince of Peace.

He wants a relationship with YOU. Without Jesus’s death and resurrection, we wouldn’t be able to have such a close, personal relationship with the Maker of all things! It’s amazing to me that this pandemic happened right in the middle of the holiest week. This is a time, more than ever to thank Jesus for all He’s done for us and all He continues to do for us. He is at work right now. Though we may not see it or understand why this is happening, God knows. We need to trust Him. Believe in Him. Rest in Him. He died to know YOU! And YES, once you have Jesus on your side the same power that raised Him from the dead is within you! How GREAT is our God!?!

  • John 11:25-26: “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?'”
  • 1 Peter 1:3: “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”
  • Romans 6:8-11:”The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. “

  1. Thank you so much for a reminder that though this Easter will be different in many ways, the love behind won’t and never will be. May we always remember the Lord and His sacrifice no matter how hard life gets!
