Where do you see yourself professionally 10 years from now?
This week my professor asked us this question. As my senior year reaches the halfway mark I find myself frequently thinking about my future.
In 10 years I hope to be anchoring the news in Phoenix, Arizona. I will be 31 years old and I want to be able to say I did it. Despite what everyone else thought and despite my own doubts I will work super hard until this happens.
In order for me to get there I need to start out in a smaller market. I’ll need lots of practice and to learn much more about the business than I could imagine. I’ll probably start out in a small town and work my way up to a bigger market like Phoenix. Building connections will be crucial within these next years after college. It’ll be exhausting and really hard but I know this fire in my heart is strong enough to handle anything.
These are my dreams.
One verse I will keep in mind throughout the next 10 years is this:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord. “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
