Tis The Season For Sweets

As Halloween approaches nearly four weeks away my sweet tooth aches for some sweet take-a-ways.

So from now until Halloween I’m making a new treat every Monday. This week I made caramel and chocolate dipped pretzel rods.

These treats are super simple to make. The overall time spent in the kitchen was about 45 minutes. It may take longer depending on how many pretzel rods you’d like to make.

All you need:

  • Pretzel rods
  • Kraft Caramels
  • Semi-sweet chocolate morsels
  • Sprinkles, nuts or any other topping of your choice

First, melt the caramels on stove or in microwave, dip the pretzel rod in the caramel and lay on foil or wax paper to dry.

Next, melt chocolate morsels, dip pretzel in chocolate, now roll pretzel in sprinkles or topping of choice, then lay on foil or wax paper to dry until ready to eat.

The hardest part about making these sweet and salty treats was getting everyone’s hands off them. They were a huge huge hit last night. And not only this but they’re so bright and colorful they really brought the party to our little college apartment.
